A clunk from the front of your Škoda Kamiq over bumps is usually worn anti-roll bar links, bushes or top mounts.
Here’s how to diagnose it and when to stop driving.
Why your Kamiq clunks over bumps and potholes
That hollow, rattling clunk you hear from the front end is rarely a mystery to a mechanic. On a Škoda Kamiq, the front suspension is a MacPherson strut design, and the usual suspects are the parts that control movement and isolate noise: anti-roll bar links, anti-roll bar bushes, top strut mounts, lower control arm bushes, ball joints, and the struts themselves. Over speed bumps, potholes, or rough tarmac, worn bushes and ball joints let metal parts move further than they should, so you get a knock or clunk. It is often worse at low speed, when you hear it clearly because there is less road noise.
