A steady ABS warning light on your Kia K5/Optima often means a wheel speed sensor, wiring, or tone ring fault. Learn what to check first and when it’s safe to drive.
What a steady ABS light means
On a Kia K5/Optima IV, an ABS warning light that stays on continuously usually means the ABS control module has stored a fault and disabled the anti-lock function. In most cases the base brakes still work, but you lose ABS assistance in hard stops or slippery conditions. If the red brake warning light is also on, the pedal feels soft or low, or you see fluid loss, stop driving and have it inspected immediately.
