Black smoke and power loss under load on your Audi Q7 II diesel usually mean too much fuel or too little air. Start with EGR, DPF, boost and sensor checks before driving hard.
Why your Q7 II diesel feels flat and smokes black
When a modern diesel like the Audi Q7 II 3.0 TDI loses power under load and rolls black smoke, the engine is running rich: there is more fuel than the air can burn. On these cars, that is often not one failed part but a chain reaction. A clogged EGR valve or EGR cooler restricts flow, carbon builds in the intake manifold, and the DPF starts trapping soot faster than it can regenerate. The ECU then limits boost or fuel to protect the engine, and you feel that flat, breathless limp mode. A sticking turbo VNT actuator, split intercooler hose, dirty MAF sensor, or lazy differential pressure sensor can cause the same symptoms, so proper diagnosis matters.
