A pulsating brake pedal on your Audi Q8 often means warped brake discs or uneven pad deposits. Here’s what to check first and whether it’s safe to keep driving.
Why Your Audi Q8's Brake Pedal Pulsates
When you feel a rhythmic pulsing through the brake pedal under braking, especially at higher speeds, it's usually the front brake discs. On a heavy SUV like the Q8, the brakes work hard, and what we often call warped rotors is actually disc thickness variation caused by uneven pad material transfer, hot spots, or improper lug nut torque. Other culprits include a sticking brake caliper, worn wheel bearings, tired control arm bushings, or even an ABS wheel speed sensor acting up. The pulse you feel is the brake pad riding over high and low spots on the disc.
