Why Does It Happen?
When a diesel engine struggles under load and emits black smoke, it means the air-fuel mixture is too rich — the fuel isn't burning completely. On modern diesels, the usual suspects are a clogged EGR valve, a blocked DPF, a failing MAF sensor, or a turbo boost leak. Over time, soot and carbon can build up, choking the engine and preventing proper airflow.
