Feeling a pulse through the brake pedal? Learn why rotors warp, how to confirm it, and whether it’s safe to keep driving your Malibu.
Why Does the Pedal Pulse?
The most common cause is a warped brake disc (rotor). When the rotor surface has high and low spots, the brake pads grab and release as they rotate, sending a pulsation back through the pedal. On the Chevy Malibu IX, this often develops after hard braking or from sitting with the brakes applied after a hot stop.
