A throbbing brake pedal under braking on your Geometry A often points to uneven brake discs. Here’s what to check first, how to narrow it down, and whether you can safely keep driving.
Why does the brake pedal pulse?
That rhythmical throb you feel through the pedal is usually caused by a slight variation on the brake disc surface – often called warped discs, though it is more accurately uneven disc thickness or pad residue deposits. As the disc rotates, the pads grip and release slightly, which sends pressure pulses back through the brake lines to the pedal. On an electric vehicle like the Geometry A, this can happen even with modest use because regenerative braking does most of the slowing, so the discs may not be exercised regularly and can develop rust or uneven deposits.
