A dead battery every morning usually means a module that won’t go to sleep — or a battery that’s already given up. Here’s what to test first on your Exeed VX, and when it’s still safe to drive.
First, Let's Separate "Bad Battery" From "Something Is Draining It"
On the Exeed VX, an overnight flat battery almost always comes down to one of two things: the battery itself has aged out, or something in the car is still awake and eating current while you're asleep. A healthy 12V AGM battery in a fully locked, sleeping VX should settle to roughly 20–60 mA of key-off draw. Here's the part most owners miss — the car doesn't fall asleep instantly. Give it 30 to 60 minutes after locking before you trust any measurement, because the telematics box, head unit and gateway stay awake for a while by design. If you're seeing half an amp or more after an hour, that's not a battery problem — that's a parasitic draw, and it will kill a brand-new battery just as fast as the old one.
