Why a Geometry E Loses Battery Charge Overnight
On the Geometry E, the battery that usually drains overnight is the 12V auxiliary battery, not the high-voltage traction pack. That little battery powers the computers, lights, and door modules — and if one of those circuits keeps drawing current after you park, it can go flat in hours. This is called a parasitic draw. A healthy EV will typically go to "sleep" a few minutes after you lock it, dropping its draw to around 20–50 milliamps. If something keeps a module awake, that number can jump to several hundred milliamps or more. In some cases the 12V battery itself is simply aged and can't hold a charge, so it's wise to test it first.
