Black smoke and power loss under load usually mean the engine is over-fuelling or starved of air.
Check the intake, EGR, DPF and boost system early — don’t keep driving it hard.
If your Great Wall Poer diesel starts feeling flat under load and lays down black smoke, the engine is telling you the fuel-to-air mix is off. In plain terms, it’s getting too much diesel for the air it can breathe, or the exhaust side is choked. On these common-rail diesels, a clogged EGR valve, a soot-loaded DPF, a dirty MAF/MAP sensor, a split boost hose or a sticking turbo vane can all produce the same “no power, big smoke” complaint. It’s rarely just one thing, so a proper diagnostic scan and live-data check matter more than guessing.
