A flickering check engine light with a rough idle often means a misfire, vacuum leak, or throttle/ignition issue.
Scan the codes first, then inspect plugs, coils, and intake seals—and stop driving if the light flashes steadily.
Why a flickering CEL and rough idle happen on the Dargo
On a Haval Dargo, a check engine light that flickers in time with a rough idle is usually the ECU reporting an active or intermittent misfire. The turbocharged engine is sensitive to spark plug condition, ignition coil performance, intake leaks, and fuel pressure. A flicker can also come from a voltage dip or a poor ground, but when the idle is rough too, I would treat it as a misfire until proven otherwise. A light that flashes continuously—especially under acceleration—is more urgent because unburned fuel can overheat the catalytic converter.
