Why Does It Slip and Jerk Between Gears?
When your Honda HR-V III (2022 and newer) starts hesitating before engaging a gear, then slams into it with a jolt, that's not just a rough ride — it's your transmission asking for attention. In my shop, I see this most often in CVT automatics, and the usual suspects are low or degraded transmission fluid, a worn shift solenoid, or a failing valve body. The delayed, jerky engagement is a classic sign that internal hydraulic pressure is too low or is being applied unevenly.
