A cold-start stall on your Kaiyi X3 is often caused by a faulty coolant temp sensor, dirty throttle body, or weak fuel pressure. Here’s what to check first and whether you can drive.
Why Your Kaiyi X3 Stalls Right After a Cold Start
When your Kaiyi X3 fires up on a frosty morning and then dies within seconds, it’s usually because the engine control unit (ECU) isn’t getting the right data to keep the cold-idle mixture rich. Winter makes any weakness worse: battery voltage drops, fuel atomization suffers, and sensors that are marginal can read out of spec. In most cases, the culprit is a coolant temperature sensor that tells the ECU the engine is warmer than it really is, so the ECU leans out the mixture too early. A dirty throttle body or a sticking idle air control valve can also choke off the air needed for a cold idle. Less common but still possible are a weak fuel pump, a clogged fuel filter, or a failing mass airflow (MAF) sensor.
