A steady ABS warning light on your Lexus LS usually points to a wheel speed sensor, wiring, or tone ring issue. Here’s what to check first and when it’s safe to drive.
What a steady ABS light means on your Lexus LS
If the ABS warning light stays on continuously in your Lexus LS 500 or LS 500h, the ABS module has stored a fault and has disabled anti-lock braking. Your regular brakes will still work, but you may also notice VSC, TRAC, brake hold, or adaptive cruise features switching off. The most common culprit is a wheel speed sensor, but the real cause can also be its wiring, connector, tone ring, hub bearing play, low battery voltage, or—less often—the ABS module itself. A proper scan of the ABS module is the fastest way to avoid guessing.
