On a Mazda MX-5 IV (ND), an ABS light that stays on continuously generally means the ABS control module has stored a fault and has disabled anti-lock braking. You will often still have normal base braking, but ABS, and in many cases DSC/traction control, may be inactive. The most common trigger is a wheel speed sensor circuit problem: a dirty or damaged sensor, chafed wiring, a corroded connector, or a damaged/magnetized tone ring or encoder.
