When your BYD Dolphin makes a clunking sound over bumps or potholes, the noise is almost always from a worn mechanical component – not an electronic or sensor issue. The prime suspects, in order of frequency, are the anti-roll bar drop links (sway bar links), the lower control arm bushings, and the front strut top mount. On the Dolphin, the drop links have a very distinct sharp 'clunk' when their ball joints loosen up after rough road use or high mileage.
