Why cold starts are so hard on a Pajero IV
When the temperature drops, your Pajero IV's engine needs a richer fuel mixture, a strong spark (or good glow plug performance on diesels), and a stable idle. If any sensor or mechanical part is marginal, the ECU can't compensate properly, and the engine dies as soon as you release the key or touch the throttle. On the 3.2 DiD diesel, common culprits include a clogged fuel filter, a lazy suction control valve, or weak glow plugs. On the 3.0 and 3.8 V6 petrols, it's often the mass airflow sensor, coolant temperature sensor, or a carboned-up throttle body and idle air control valve.
